ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — More than two weeks after an alleged assault in Ithaca, the suspect has been arrested. 

Ithaca Police say Stephen Whitaker was wanted for gouging someone’s eye on November 26, which led to an arrest warrant. The 35-year-old Whitaker was located by police on Saturday and eventually arrested after struggling with an officer, who suffered a minor injury.

Whitaker is charged with assault and resisting arrest.
