CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Two women are accused of using someone else’s credit cards in Cortland.
According to the Cortland Police Department, a man lost his wallet while shopping at Riverside Plaza on February 6 and later discovered nearly $500 in fraudulent purchases on his cards.
The cards were allegedly used at several local businesses, including P&C, Family Dollar, 7-Eleven, BRU 64, and Area 51. Through store surveillance photos, receipts, and witness statements, two suspects were identified.
On February 21, 45-year-old Erika Pantone was arrested, and 38-year-old Rebecca Robitaille was taken into custody three days later. Each is charged with felony identity theft, felony possession of stolen property, petit larceny, and conspiracy.
Pantone was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on March 9. Robitaille was held in Cortland County Jail on unrelated outstanding warrants. She will appear in court on March 4.
