LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — A Lansing man faces charges in a spree of burglaries.
Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne says Flock Safety cameras helped investigators get a description of a vehicle used in a series of countywide storage unit burglaries. Surveillance video on Feb. 5 caught a man inside a storage unit with a lock cut off, Osborne added.
36-year-old Jarrod Nickerson is charged with third-degree burglary. Investigators recovered several stolen items from Nickerson’s home. According to Sheriff Osborne, approximately 25 people or families were affected by the burglary spree, which spanned multiple counties.
“The Criminal Investigative Division continues to catalog and match recovered property to victims, a process that is expected to take several weeks to complete,” according to a statement from the sheriff.
Additional charges are likely against Nickerson, who’s being held in the Tompkins County jail on $20,000 cash bail.
