ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A 27-year-old man has been charged with a recent crime at Cornell.
Varshith Kandula was arrested on Friday after an investigation into a theft at Goldwin Smith Hall that happened back on September 28. Kandula was allegedly caught rummaging through an office and fled when he was confronted by a building care worker. Cornell PD was able to identify Kandula and recover property stolen during the burglary.
Additionally, authorities say they found LSD and over a half ounce of methamphetamine on Kandula at the time of his arrest. Kandula is charged with felony burglary, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property, and two counts of misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
