ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca Police Department has arrested 3 people in a drug and weapons investigation, and a 4th person in a November shooting.
Multiple search warrants were executed Friday, Jan. 9 at a residence in the 400 block of Worth St. and multiple apartments in the 100 block of Cherry St. in Ithaca, and also a residence on Belles Hollow Dr. in Newfield. According to an IPD news release, “the Ithaca City Police Department’s Specialized Response Team (SRT) and New York State Police’s Special Operations Response Team (SORT) executed multiple search warrants at the request of the Ithaca City Police Department’s Investigations Division, which has been conducting a months-long investigation into illegal weapons possession and narcotics sales.”
40-year-old Meleek Miller and 38-year-old Courtney Finney, both of Ithaca, are charged with felony 1st degree possession of a controlled substance. 29-year-old Dajon Dunton, also of Ithaca, is charged with possession of a weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees, both of which are felonies. Additional charges are pending, police said.
During the operation, IPD says 21-year-old Diyandre Harriett was arrested and charged in a Nov. 1, 2025 shooting in the area of W. State St. and Plain St. Harriett, who’s also a resident of Ithaca, faces 5 separate felony counts:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree C Felony
- Criminal Use of a Firearm 2nd Degree C Felony
- Conspiracy 4th Degree E Felony
- Attempted Assault 1st Degree C Felony
- Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree D Felony
