ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The City of Ithaca has settled all labor contracts, including with the Ithaca Police Department.

In a statement, Ithaca Police Benevolent Association President Tom Condzella calls the agreement “historic.”

Pay will increase for officers beginning in January 2024, when the contract goes into effect.

Newly hired officers will see their base pay increase from $57,461 to $74,000 starting on January 1, 2024.

“This contract is a result of strong collaboration and partnership between the PBA and City Administration,” Condzella said in his statement on Friday morning.

Condzella says the deal sends a positive message to current and future members of the Ithaca Police Department.
