ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Cornell has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit related to COVID-19.

The lawsuit was filed in April 2020 by a group of students. It alleges the school was in breach of its contract when it moved classes online at the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The Daily Sun reports Cornell denies any wrongdoing, but thought it was in the best interest of all parties to settle. Students enrolled in a degree program with in-person classes in the 2020 spring semester are eligible for partial tuition reimbursement.

The proposed settlement will have a final approval hearing in December.
