CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – A traffic stop has led to drug charges in Cortland.

Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies pulled a vehicle over in the city on Monday for traffic infractions. The passenger, 34-year-old Amber Harris, allegedly had more than a half ounce of crack cocaine, morphine, and pills on her. Authorities say the crack cocaine has an approximate street value north of $1.400.  Harris was charged with felony drug possession and four misdemeanors. She’s being held in Cortland County Jail without bail. The driver, 49-year-old Tammy Smith, of Marathon, received a misdemeanor for drug possession and was issued an appearance ticket.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office, this investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possible.
