ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A committee in Tompkins County is asking the public to suggest candidates for an award.

The Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Committee (WDIC) is seeking nominations for the second annual Leslyn McBean-Clairborne Strength in Diversity Award. Tompkins County Legislator Veronica Pillar chairs the committee. She says they’re looking for individuals or organizations that excel in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

“Please consider nominating someone in the community who shares the legislature’s values and commitment to diversity,” said Pillar. “We have so many amazing Tompkins County residents and organizations who are committed to equity and social justice. I believe that the county and WDIC should be uplifting the best work in our community as examples of what we all can do to find strength in diversity.”
