BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A Southern Tier school is beefing up security.
On November 10, Senator Lea Webb announced $200,000 in funding for Broome-Tioga BOCES through the State Senate’s Community Resiliency, Economic Stability, and Technology Program (CREST).
The money will be used to purchase and install more security cameras on campus.
“We are deeply grateful to Senator Lea Webb for securing this funding to enhance campus safety at Broome-Tioga BOCES,” said Superintendent Dr. Rebecca Stone. “The installation of new security cameras across our facilities will eliminate blind spots and provide greater visibility for our staff and students. These upgrades are part of our ongoing efforts to maintain secure learning environments where students and employees feel safe and supported.”
In related news, Webb and others cut the ribbon last month at the Broome-Tioga BOCES Trades Complex, which is designed to help students for careers in skilled trades like heavy equipment operation, truck driving, renewable energy installation, and more.
