ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Tompkins County Whole Health Department has created more space for mental health.

In 2024, officials quietly began offering services to existing clients at their office at 55 Brown Road. They’re now ready to open up the same services to the larger community, which includes anyone who lives or works in Tompkins County.

Mental Health Deputy Commissioner Harmony Ayers-Friedlander tells 607 News Now it’s still a challenge for some people to get the help they need.

Ayers-Friedlander says the mental health clinic is open to people young and old.

Before the ribbon was cut on Friday, Nov. 7, officials noted that the space allows for easier parking than their office on E. Green St. in downtown Ithaca.
