ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A severe thunderstorm in Ithaca left some damage behind.
The Ithaca Fire Department received more than 30 calls Monday evening about trees on roads, wires, cars, and homes. Flooding was also reported on University Avenue and Stewart Avenue.
In addition, the Tompkins County Department of Emergency Response reports significant property damage in parts of Dryden and Enfield. A barn and other structures were also reportedly destroyed around Hayts and Sheffield Roads.
The Lincoln Street Diner will likely be closed for several days after a tree fell on their electrical wires, ripping them off the building.
There are no reports of injuries from last evening’s storm.
