ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Hundreds of millions of dollars could be heading back to Cornell.

According to Bloomberg, the Ivy League institution is in talks and “likely to be among the next to settle” with the Trump Administration to have its federal funding restored.

The news comes after recent deals were announced with Columbia and UPenn, which included large fines for alleged civil rights violations. A mutual draft document is reportedly circulating but has not yet been signed.

Earlier this year, Cornell President Michael Kotlikoff detailed over 75 stop work orders from the Trump Administration affecting research. Reports suggested the funding freeze topped $1 billion, though Cornell never confirmed that number.

It led to a hiring freeze and planned staff reductions at the university.
