OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) — An emergency order in Tioga County has been extended for another few days.
Since May 11, a state of emergency has been in effect over concerns that migrants from the Southern border would re-locate seeking shelter. Legislative Chair Martha Sauerbrey says Tioga County still has a housing crisis. The current extension runs through Tuesday.
Cayuga County recently renewed its emergency declaration, while Cortland County announced in June that they would end their state of emergency.
