FREETOWN, NY (607NewsNow) -A Cortland County man has received more charges.

On July 24, 33-year-old Michael Bellefleur Jr. was arrested while in custody for shots fired incidents that happened earlier this month in Freetown. Bellefleur was originally arrested on July 18.

During the investigation of the initial crimes, authorities executed a search warrant on the Freetown man’s vehicle and residence. They allegedly found a “ghost” handgun in his home, and multiple firearms and ammunition in his truck.

On top of the 15 original felonies and six misdemeanors, Bellefleur now faces three additional felonies related to weapons possession and three more misdemeanors. He remains in Cortland County Jail and will appear in court on August 20 and August 27.
