LANSING, N.Y . (WHCU) — The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident and death in Lansing.

Authorities were called to State Route 13 between Warren Road and North Triphammer Road around 5 p.m. Friday evening about a vehicle stuck in a ditch. Deputies on the scene found the vehicle, which had front end damage.

A man was found nearby who investigators believe was struck by the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the vehicle reportedly refused to cooperate with investigators.

Authorities have not yet released names, but they say the man has black hair and a black beard and was wearing tan or khaki pants and a grey shirt. Anyone who saw him walking on State Route 13 or has information about this crash can call the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 607-266-5420.
