ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – About 850,000 water bottles sold at Walmart have been recalled.
Ozark Trail 64 oz. stainless steel insulated water bottles pose “serious impact and laceration hazards” if consumers store food, carbonated, or perishable beverages inside.
Over time, the pressure builds up inside, making the lids unsafe to unscrew.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, they’ve received three reports of someone being injured after being struck in the face by the lid, including two people who suffered permanent loss of vision.
The bottles have been sold in stores and online since 2017 for about $15.
Consumers are urged to stop using the bottles and return them to any Walmart for a full refund.
