CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Cortland Police have announced additional charges in a stabbing.

On June 16, authorities announced new developments in the case and are updating charges for defendant Carlos Planas to include second-degree attempted murder and an additional count of assault.

Planas, 40, was one of two people arrested earlier this week in the incident that left a pair of people injured on Owego Street. Planas and 24-year-old Kaitlin Duff were each originally charged with felony assault, felony criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. The unnamed victims in the alleged crime are in stable condition.

According to the Cortland Police Department, the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are possible. Planas is being held in Cortland County Jail without bail.
