ELMIRA, N.Y. (WHCU) – The search for the next leader of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier has come to an end.
The non-profit organization has appointed Mark Bordeau as its new President and CEO. Bordeau, who has more than two decades of experience in executive leadership and administration, is looking forward to the challenge.
“The opportunity to lead an organization that is dedicated to combating hunger and making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families is both humbling and inspiring,” said Bordeau. “I am excited to work alongside the passionate team at the Food Bank and collaborate with our community partners to address the urgent issue of food insecurity.”
Bordeau previously served as the Advocacy Committe Chair on the Food Bank’s Board of Directors from 2009-2018.
“With Mark at the helm, I am confident that the Food Bank will continue to thrive and make an even greater impact in our community,” said Diocesan Director and President of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rochester Karen Dehais. “Mark brings with him an exceptional track record of leadership and a deep commitment to fighting hunger in our community.”
Bordeau succeeds Natasha Thompson, who announced she was leaving the Food Bank in February after 22 years. He will take over in his role on August 14.
