CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — The SUNY Cortland baseball team is mourning a loss.
Former player Warren “Red” Kilmer passed away on Aug. 21. He was 93.
“We will miss him taking batting practice [at over 90 years old],” the team said on X. “He was the kindest soul.”
The team said Kilmer played the banjo at alumni reunions.

According to SUNY Cortland Athletics, Kilmer had a .425 batting average in the 1955 season. He graduated Cortland in January 1956 and was later inducted into the C-Club Hall of Fame.
