ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A familiar face is running for office in Ithaca. 

Zach Winn announced on Ithaca’s Morning News Wednesday, June 11th his decision to run in the 1st Ward. He’s previously run for Common Council and mayor. Winn tells WHCU that downtown Ithaca has troubles. 

Winn, the lone Republican running for a Common Council seat, adds a major problem in Ward 1 is Asteri Ithaca.

Since opening in 2024, IPD and IFD has responded to frequent calls at the apartment structure on E. Green St. In addition to Winn’s candidacy, three Democrats are also running to represent Ward 1.
