CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – SUNY Cortland is expanding its student offerings and local footprint.

The school is moving forward with the purchase of the Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) Extension Center at 157 Main Street. Once the project is complete, it will be known as the SUNY Cortland Entrepreneurship Center.

The SUNY Board of Trustees approved the acquisition in March 2024. Expected to be ready for the upcoming academic year, the building will be used for student coursework that benefits local businesses and nonprofit groups, as well as support student start-up ideas.

According to SUNY Cortland, it will be operated in partnership with TC3.

TC3 President Dr. Amy Kremenek said the school is thrilled with SUNY Cortland’s vision to buy the underused space from the TC3 Foundation, and looks forward to working with them in this new capacity.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected during the Fall 2025 semester.
