MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) – The Marathon Central School District has a new superintendent.

On June 6, the Board of Education appointed Jamie Coppola to the role, saying his leadership is rooted in collaboration and integrity and will strengthen the district.

Coppola brings over 30 years of experience and steps in as superintendent after serving as principal at Marathon Jr./Sr. High School, where he was hired in August 2022.

“I’m incredibly honored to serve the Marathon Central School District as superintendent,” said Coppola on the district website. “This is a community that truly cares about its children, its schools, and each other. I look forward to continuing the great work already happening here, supporting our students, staff, and families, and working together to foster growth, innovation, and a shared sense of purpose.”

Coppola will begin on July 1.
