OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – An Owego man is receiving an upgraded criminal charge after failing to appear in court.

According to the Owego Police Department, Charles Wilcox was arrested last week and charged with second-degree felony arson.

The 47-year-old was originally charged with fourth-degree arson in April 2024 after an investigation into an Elm Street structure fire.

In a separate investigation last week, Wilcox was arrested for trespassing at the North Avenue laundromat. He was issued appearance tickets for both incidents.
