ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County is proud to host the 33rd Annual YMCA Golf Classic, the longest-running charity golf tournament in Tompkins County, on Monday, June 16th at the Trumansburg Golf Course in Trumansburg, NY.

This year’s event debuts under a new name, highlighting the tournament’s broader community impact. Proceeds from the Golf Classic will benefit the YMCA’s youth program scholarships, reinforcing the Y’s mission to ensure that all families, regardless of financial circumstances, have access to transformative programs.

With community support, local children are given the tools to dream big, stay active, extend their learning beyond the classroom, and create lasting memories.

Scholarships funded by the tournament support a range of youth programs, including school-age childcare, summer camps, adaptive programs, and enrichment activities such as sports and art classes. In 2024 alone, the YMCA awarded $110,000 in program scholarships to families across Tompkins County, expanding access to essential services like swim lessons and childcare — including for children living with developmental disabilities.

The event kicks off with registration and check-in at 10:00 AM, followed by a shotgun start at 11:00 AM. Participants will enjoy lunch, snacks, and on-course beer generously donated by Wagner Brewing Company. Fun and engaging on-course games — including closest to the pin, a hole-in-one competition, and a golf ball cannon — will keep the energy high throughout the day.

The tournament concludes with an evening celebration featuring dinner, raffles, and awards recognizing the winning team, closest-to-the-pin achievements, and more.
