ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca City School District isn’t just asking voter’s approval of a $169 million budget.

Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown tells WHCU two propositions will appear on Tuesday’s budget vote.

Gov. Kathy Hochul issued a mandate in 2023 that requires school districts to begin buying electric buses and vehicles starting in 2027. The other proposition involves open seats on Ithaca’s Board of Education.

Voting begins at noon on Tuesday at several polling sites in the district.
