UPDATE, 9:00 a.m.
Authorities have released more information about a reported abduction in Cortland.
The father of two children is likely facing charges in a missing persons investigation. An AMBER Alert was issued this morning after the kids’ mother told the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office they had been missing since Sunday night on North Main Street in Cortland. That alert was cancelled after the kids were located in Syracuse.
30-year-old Anthony Bowman, Junior was being brought back to Cortland County this morning. It’s unclear right now what charges will be filed.
The kids are back home safely with their mom.
UPDATE, 8:20 a.m.
Captain Chad Burhans at the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office told WHCU’s Joe Salzone on Ithaca’s Morning News that Anthony Bowman, Junior will soon be in their custody. It’s not clear yet what charges will be filed.
Meantime, Captain Burhans says both kids are safe and back home with their mother.
UPDATE, 7:10 a.m.
Cortland County Sheriff Mark Helms tells WHCU both kids have been located and the AMBER Alert was cancelled. No arrests have been made.
There’s also no word yet on the status of the alleged suspect, Anthony Bowman, Junior.

CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — An AMBER Alert has been issued in Cortland County.
Sheriff Mark Helms reports two children were abducted Sunday night on Main Street. Three-year-old Anthony Bowman the Third and two-year-old Aaliyah Bowman were allegedly taken by 30-year-old Anthony Bowman, Junior in a red SUV Chevrolet Equinox.
The two kids are Black, as is the suspect. Bowman is described as about six feet tall with short black hair and brown eyes.
They were last seen on North Main Street, and authorities believe the kids may be in severe danger. It’s not currently known the direction in which Bowman was headed.
