AUBURN, NY (607NewsNow) – A Seneca Falls man is headed to prison for killing a dog.

On April 15, Brandon Carlson was sentenced to two years behind bars for felony aggravated cruelty to animals, according to FingerLakes1.com. In a previous guilty plea, the 39-year-old admitted to beating a woman’s dog to death in Springport, Cayuga County, during a November 2023 dispute. Carlson then moved the animal’s body to make it appear it had been hit by a car.

Originally, Carlson faced an additional charge of felony tampering with evidence and faced up to 4 years in prison. He accepted a plea deal for the aggravated cruelty to animals charge earlier this year.
