AURORA, NY (607NewsNow) – A water treatment plant is too expensive for Aurora to operate.
According to FingerLakes1.com, the village could be forced to dissolve if the state can’t help with rising costs at the plant. Officials say they’re looking at triple water rates and double sewer rates in the proposed 2025-2026 spending plan, which would be problematic for the small, primarily senior population.
The village has been running the plant, previously owned by Wells College, since last summer.
