ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – TCAT’s bus fleet is growing.
On April 2, Tompkins County lawmakers unanimously approved a resolution to add five buses to the transit company during the full meeting of the Legislature.
The 40-foot, 2010 Gillig hybrid models come from Albany’s Capital District Transit Authority at no cost to the county. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) permits FTA recipients to transfer assets to other FTA recipients, and the buses have no remaining federal interest and little market value.
In December, TCAT GM Matthew Rosenbloom-Jones told WHCU they’ll add over a dozen new buses to the fleet this year.
