ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Ithaca Police have made an arrest related to a west-end fire.

On the evening of March 27, authorities responded to the West Village Apartment complex for the blaze. According to Ithaca Fire Department Assistant Chief Jim Wheal, the apartment was a total loss, but neighboring units remained habitable, and nobody was hurt. After an investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be arson.

Earlier today, IPD announced that a juvenile was taken into custody and has been charged with felony arson. They were arraigned and released to their guardian. Due to their age, a name will not be disclosed.
