FAYETTE, NY (607NewsNow) – A traffic stop leads to gun charges in Seneca County.

On March 24, deputies conducted a traffic stop around 10:40 p.m. in the Town of Fayette for vehicle and traffic law violations. After further investigation, deputies found that the driver, Mujahidden Bin-Yamin of Ithaca, had a suspended license.

After a search, authorities say they found an “AR-15 style” rifle with a loaded 30-round magazine. Bin-Yamin is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and a single count of possession of stolen property, all felonies. He is additionally charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation.
