ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — A fugitive from Florida is under arrest in Ithaca. 

Police say a vehicle was discovered Tuesday afternoon on South Meadow Street that belonged to 28-year-old William John Vanderan Robinson, who lives in Marion County, Florida. IPD says Robinson was wanted on a strangulation charge and was arrested. It’s not clear why Robinson was in Ithaca, or how long he’d been on the run.

Robinson will remain in the Tompkins County jail until extradition is arranged for his return to Florida.
