ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Nearly 2,000 members of Ithaca Carshare will have to find a different way to reserve a vehicle.
The non-profit service is pausing operations for six weeks beginning Friday. Director Liz Field tells WHCU insurance difficulties has put them in a bind.
Legislation sponsored by Assemblymember Anna Kelles would permit companies from outside New York to insure carshares, but a vote has not yet been held. Ithaca Carshare formed in 2006.
