ENDWELL, NY (607NewsNow) — A Broome County pharmacist faces several charges. 

State Police say an investigation revealed Clyde Stevens wrote false prescriptions and illegally gave both controlled and non-controlled substances. Stevens, who’s 46, worked at a Ride Aid in Endwell.

“The inquiry began after the company identified discrepancies in medication distribution, revealing that Stevens had dispensed quantities exceeding doctors’ prescriptions on multiple occasions. These actions resulted in a financial loss of more than $4,000 to the pharmacy.”

“Further investigation found that Stevens also unlawfully filled prescriptions for controlled substances that had never been authorized by a medical professional.”

Stevens was charged with:

•    Criminal Sale of a Prescription for a Controlled Substance or of a Controlled Substance by a Practitioner or Pharmacist (Class C Felony – 5 counts)
•    Forgery in the Second Degree (Medical Prescription) (Class D Felony – 11 counts)
•    Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class D Felony – 1 count)
•    Fraud and Deceit Related to Controlled Substances (Misdemeanor – 5 counts)
