ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A police officer in Ithaca has settled with the city in a case of discrimination.

FingerLakes1.com reports Sarah Crews can retire in good standing after agreeing on a $275,000 settlement. Crews argued their gender non-conformity led to disciplinary action within IPD beginning in 2018.

Under the agreement, neither the police union nor Crews can pursue legal action. Crews, who first joined IPD in 2007, can retire in 2024.
