NEWARK VALLEY, NY (607NewsNow) – An Ithaca man faces two felonies in Tioga County after a six-month investigation.

On February 5, deputies arrested 43-year-old Andrew Gildea on a warrant issued by the Town of Newark Valley Court. Gildea is accused of intentionally setting a structure fire on Murphy Lane last June. He is charged with arson, criminal mischief, and misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Gildea was arraigned and transported to Tompkins County Jail, where he’s being held on bail for an unrelated crime. Gildea will return to Newark Valley Town Court at a later date.
