CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) — Construction on Charles Street in Cortland has now begun. 

New gas mains are being installed, which will take a couple days to complete. Flaggers are directing traffic around the work zone between Clinton Avenue and Grant Street. Drivers should use an alternate route during the work.
