ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra continues its Orchestral Series with Flight of Fancy, featuring CCO’s Concertmaster Christina Bouey, on Saturday, February 22nd at 7:30 p.m. at Ithaca College’s Ford Hall.
Revel in the connection between birdsong and music. From a “peckish” Haydn Symphony to the moving Jocelyn Morlock’s Solace, from Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, featuring CCO Concertmaster Christina Bouey, to the recorded sounds of the Arctic Circle in Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Concerto for Birds and Orchestra, take a musical journey in celebration of birds.
Maestro Guillaume Pirard will conduct the orchestra and offer a free pre-concert chat with Ms. Boueyan hour prior to the performance.
Christina Bouey, Canadian/American violinist, is hailed by the New York Times for playing “beautifully,” the New York Post, “When violinist Bouey spun out that shimmering tune, I thought I died and went to heaven,” and by Opera News, for playing “with exquisite, quivering beauty.” She is praised by Seen and Heard International, “Bouey responded with the kind of beguiling poetry that technical brilliance alone cannot liberate.” Ms. Bouey serves as Concertmaster for the CCO and was also recently named Concertmaster of the Albany Symphony.
