ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Tompkins County Public Library has announced a schedule change for Narcan training.
The free info sessions, which are available through a partnership with The REACH Project, are moving to the first Thursday of each month beginning in February. It’s part of the library’s Information Saves Lives project. Shortly after a grant-funded Narcan vending machine was unveiled in November 2024, the library received an anonymous $10,000 donation to keep the training sessions going beyond the grant cycle.

According to library officials, the vending machine dispenses about 12 to 15 boxes of opioid overdose reversal drugs per week, and Narcan was used to revive five people at the library last year.
The next training session is set for February 6 at 4 p.m. Register here.
