ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca is renewing a search for a new controller. 

City Manager Deb Mohlenhoff tells WHCU that for the third attempt, they’re keeping things close to home. 

The city will take the same approach in finding a new DPW superintendent. But when it comes to beginning a search for a third time to fill a void in the city controller’s office, Mohlenhoff hopes for better luck.

Steven Thayer retired in 2023.
