ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Ithaca’s next police chief will have a starting salary of 150-thousand-dollars.
The Common Council voted eight to two Wednesday in favor of the raise. It will include a 50-thousand-dollar sign-on bonus, which will be paid out over three years.
The city is currently working with a national executive search firm to find a new police chief. Last week, Acting Chief John Joly went on an indefinite leave of absence.
