ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Some recycling fees are going up in Tompkins County.

Beginning January 1, 2025, the annual solid waste fee will increase from $80 to $82 per residential unit. At the Recycling and Solid Waste Center, the disposal fee for municipal solid waste will rise to $106 per ton. Flat tier rates will remain unchanged. Agricultural tires will be accepted at $350 per ton with a valid permit.

County officials say the new prices reflect the increased costs of contracted services for garbage and recycling. A full list of fees is available here.
