ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Appointments are available for a rabies clinic in Danby.
Tompkins County Whole Health (TCWH) is having its Spring Vaccination Rabies Clinic next week. TCWH holds clinics throughout the year. New York State law requires all cats, dogs, and ferrets have their first rabies shot between three and four months of age.
“We held a clinic last weekend at the TCAT bus garage and vaccinated over 150 pets,” said TCWH Director of Environmental Health, Liz Cameron. “We are pleased to provide this service to our community, to reduce the burden of rabies vaccination cost as a barrier to keeping pets up to date. Rabies is a serious, life-threatening disease that can be easily prevented by keeping pets up to date on their vaccinations.”
TCWH reminds attendees to bring previous vaccination paperwork with you to the clinic and ensure all pets are properly secured on a leash or in carriers. The clinic happens Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Danby Fire Station located at 1780 Danby Road next to Ithaca College. Registration is required.
