ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Two people were rescued Friday from the gorge at Six Mile Creek.
Rescue crews were alerted to a person swimming who was unconscious. While that person was being pulled to safety, emergency responders were told about another person in need of rescue.
The second person was stuck on a steep slope and could not keep going. Both rescues were conducted within a two-hour span.
The Ithaca Fire Department reminds people to enjoy gorges safely.
