ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Ithaca is struggling to find a new controller. 

Mayor Robert Cantelmo tells WHCU the city is in better shape now to begin a new search. 

Longtime controller Steven Thayer retired at the end of 2023. A search that year, and another earlier in 2024, both ended in failure.

Cantelmo calls the search a ‘high priority focus’ for Ithaca.
