ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Tompkins County’s future crisis stabilization and drug treatment center has a home.
Possible locations recently included the Shops at Ithaca Mall and the unused facility on North Triphammer Road built before the unexpected closure of the Alcohol and Drug Council earlier this year. There was some concern that officials at the state level would not allow both services under the same roof, or that the project would not move forward quickly enough.
The Cayuga Health-run project was partially funded with $1.5 million in COVID-19 relief money at risk of being returned to the federal government if not committed in time.
Legislative Chair Dan Klein shared good news last week.
