ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — The Ithaca Teachers Association has a message for Cornell.

In a statement, the ITA plans to picket Cornell’s Town-Gown awards on Saturday. A union official say they will “deliver” a report card to Cornell about their community relations.

“Usually, Cornell gives the awards. But this year, we are going to do what teachers do best – give meaningful, specific feedback with an eye towards improvement,” ITA secretary Aurora Rojer said. “In other words, we’re going to be delivering Cornell’s community relations report card. Spoiler alert: their grades may not be Ivy League material.”

Cornell’s annual Town-Gown awards is being held at Cinemapolis. “ITA members plan to peacefully picket and flier as attendees enter the event,” according to an ITA statement.

Last month, the ITA held a rally on the Commons calling on Cornell to increase their voluntary contributions to the Ithaca City School District.
