ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – A painful accident has led to charges for an Ithaca man.
On October 21, 2024, State Police arrested Jacub Hemingway, five days after the 21-year-old allegedly shot himself in the foot with a shotgun at a Lake Country Avenue residence in the Town of Dryden.
Around 4:52 a.m. on October 16, 2024, troopers responded to the incident and allegedly found three firearms and brass knuckles belonging to Hemingway, including an illegal handgun. Hemingway had been privately transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center for treatment prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
Hemingway is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.
