OWEGO, NY (CortacaToday) — A Newfield man has been convicted in Tioga County. 

Reports say a jury found Joseph Howell guilty Thursday of first-degree murder and kidnapping and three counts of witness intimidation for his role in the abduction and killing of Thomas Rath last year.

Rath was taken from ‘the Jungle’ in Ithaca and found dead months later in Tioga County. Howell will be sentenced in January. He’s facing life in prison without parole.
